Our version of Guest Checkout will accommodate existing users as well with a slightly updated flow

 

Notes

• A customer can re-use an email address to get through the checkout pipeline until they place an order. Once they place an order, we create them a standard iHerb account.
• Once they have placed an order their account will show up if they try to place a subsequent order as a Guest and enter their email address.
• Guest Checkout customers should not be able to access anything in My Account until they have placed an order.
• Guest users will be able to login via all traditional methods - reset pw (to create a password) or temporary code.

 

Step-by-step guide

 

Guests will see the "Continue as Guest" button instead of or current "Quick Register" option. There will not be an input for email on this screen - instead customers will be asked to enter their email on the same screen as their Shipping Address.

 

If a customer enters a new email address, the rest of the checkout pipeline will remain the same - there will be no change.

 

 

However, we will still be checking for existing customers at this step. If a customer has an existing account, they will see this message with a link to the standard login screen. Existing users must log in to continue.
